Human Elderly European Male Skull BC-204 Elderly European male skull, 80 years old. Cast by us from an original specimen in a North American medical school forensic osteology teaching collection. Osteologic features of European ancestry include a lack of alveolar prognathism, markedly prominent nasal region (including especially the nasal root), markedly narrow nasal aperture, prominent nasal sill, no nasal gutter, angular maxillary arcade, long nasal spine, and prominent forehead. Osteologic features of male sex include robusticity of bony prominences (including large mastoid processes and the nuchal crests), double frontal boss, rough nasion, squared-off anteroinferior mandible. Features of advanced age are limited to marked extra and intracranial suture closure, irregular bony exostosis, and furthermore suggested by the edentulous nature of the jaws.
