Northern Cardinal Skull BC-167 Northern Cardinals are quite prolific from Canada through North and Central America, where they adapt well to humans and moderate temperatures. With its bright red plumage and bill and a large crest on its head, the Male Northern Cardinal is instantly recognizable. The female, which is light brownish gray with a bit of red in the wings and tail, lays between one to five eggs. The eggs of these songbirds incubate for 11-13 days, with the chicks fledging after another week or two. View our Northern Cardinal Egg, KO-402, and our North American Bird Egg Set, KO-400. |
