Disarticulated Gibbon Skeleton SC-047-D Gibbon skulls exhibit no sexual dimorphism and have the forward facing, wide-set eyes, short rostrum, and globular, larger brain case typical of most hominoids. Their thumb articulates uniquely among higher apes, extending from the wrist rather than the palm, which allows a much wider range of motion. Gibbons inhabit the rainforests of mainland and South East Asia, move primarily by brachiating and are known to have a wide range of vocalizations.
