Bobcat Skull BC-146E The bobcat is heavily populated in the southeastern United States. Their range extends from southern Canada throughout the US to southern Mexico. Although smaller than cougars, they are successful hunters of small animals and reptiles, including domesticated mammals and birds. Bobcats are basically nocturnal and solitary, as are most in the cat family. Even though they are protected in most of their range, some states do allow hunting in very dense populations. Some estimates place their population just over one million. |
