Python Skull BC-118 The reticulated python gets its name due to its skin pattern which resembles a geometrical network. This non-venomous constrictor is the longest in the world along with the new world anaconda. Guinness reports a record of 32 ft. 9.5 in., but documentation is sketchy. The longest documented is 28 ft. The python is found in Southern India and Southeast Asia. It is similar to the South American anaconda in many aspects but belongs to a different genus. For example, the old world python lays eggs while the new world anaconda gives life birth. This particular specimen was probably from a 25 foot snake and is one of the largest python skulls we have seen. |
