Great Horned Owl Skull BC-072 The Great Horned owl is found throughout North, Central and South America. It is the largest of the Owls and is about 2 feet long with tufts above its ears that resemble horns, hence the name. It is instantly recognized and most familiar for its ability to swivel its head a full 180 degrees. We gratefully acknowledge and thank the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Vertebrate Zoology section for lending us this fine specimen from their extensive collection. A portion of the sales goes to them to continue their research. Great Horned Owl Skull Larger Image. Please Use Your Back Button To Return To This Page. |
