Warthog Skull and Tusks BC-041 This amazing Warthog skull, which comes with the tusks, holds the world record for the largest warthog tusks, which give the skull an almost sculptural appearance. As the name suggests, Warthogs are members of the porcine or pig family and live on the open plains of Southern Africa. The large warts on the male's head and face, which motivate its common name, are actually cartilaginous bumps of tissue that protect the face and eyes from injury during fights with other male warthogs. They are mostly hairless except for a long bristly mane that runs along their dorsum. Tusks are also available separately below. |
