Dwarf Crocodile Skull BC-009 An evolutionary link between prehistoric dinosaur-like reptiles and present day birds, this species of crocodile is named for the interesting bony texture of its skull. The dwarf crocodile is the smallest of the crocodilians. They may grow to lengths of up to 6 feet. The interesting bony texture of its skull inspired this species' scientific name. Living as long as 100 years, this nocturnal reptile is found only in the rivers of West African forests. |
