Clouded Leopard Skull BC-005 The Clouded Leopard is a medium-sized feline weighing 25 to 50 pounds. Its coat is distinctly marked with large, dark bordered ellipses shaped like clouds. The upper canine teeth of the clouded leopard are proportionally much longer than other felines. The posterior edge of the upper canine tooth is also very sharp, reminiscent of the teeth of the prehistoric saber-toothed cats. The diastema, or space between the canines and the first molar, is also very broad and the anterior pre-molar is absent, which allows them to take very wide bites. Their preferred prey items consist largely of primates such as Gibbons, Macaques and other monkeys. They have very flexible ankle joints, which allow them to descend trees headfirst and to climb while hanging upside down under branches. They also have unique oblong pupils that are positioned horizontally unlike the round or vertical pupils of other felines. The Borneo population was recently discovered to be a completely new and separate species. The Clouded Leopard skull that Bone Clones reproduces is from a large adult male with exceptionally large canine teeth. A custom metal display stand, S-BC-005, is available separately.
